5 Natural Remedies to Kick the Common Cold

I have always been a fan of doing things the natural way. Growing up my mom never gave me or my siblings medicine when we were sick. She would always know natural remedies to kick the cold and it always worked! Mother always knows best right? Here are a few of my tried and true natural remedies.

Natural Remedies to Kick the Cold

Garlic Tea

Garlic tea sounds pretty gross…but…well it is. Plus is makes your breath smell pretty potent for the next few hours. But trust me on this one, garlic tea will save your life when you have a cold, sore throat, or any type of virus. Fresh garlic has so many benefits which include antibacterial properties.

The Method: Mince 2 cloves of garlic in a tea cup/mug. Boil water. Wait at least two minutes before pouring the hot water onto the minced garlic. If your pour the water on the garlic right away you destroy the antibacterial activity.

WARNING: This is not your typical cup of tea. It does not taste good. BUT it gets the job done and will help you feel better waaayy faster. Try adding a tablespoon of honey to help with the taste.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an amazing natural remedy. I love love love it because it is so great for your body even when you aren’t sick. It aids in weight loss, promotes healthy blood sugar, helps heart burn, and boosts your energy, just to name a few. I try to drink this on a daily basis just to keep me healthy.

The Method: Mix 1 Tbsp of Bragg’s organic apple cider vinegar (make sure it is organic) in a full glass of water and chug. It is not going to taste very pleasant but it will help you get healthy a lot faster.
